Soon I hope to post a few of my own editorial-style pieces about single-payer reform, why we need it, and why HR 3200 as it stands just isn't going to cut it, as much as I wish that it would.
But for now, a recent (and not-so-recent) news round-up:
- Matt Taibbi published an excellent summary of this year's health reform debate in Rolling Stone called Sick and Wrong: How Washington is screwing up health care reform - and why it might take a revolt to fix it. If you find videos easier and more pleasurable than reading, you're in luck; many key points are summarized by Taibbi here: #1, #2, #3.
- Dr. Himmelstein of PNHP tells Anne Underwood of the NY Times why debating the public option in HR 3200 is "like debating the difference between aspirin and Tylenol for a cancer patient" in an article called Insured, but Bankrupted Anyway.
- In a less recent but very excellent video, Dr. Himmelstein and Dr. Wolfe explore our healthcare problems on Bill Moyers' Journal.
